New Shawl Projects

On January 1, 2008, my Shawls & Scarves, Etc group will begin three new shawl projects for the quarterly “Wrapped in Stitches” KAL/CAL. This is a Shawl group that knits and crochets two Scarves a month and does a KAL/CAL of three shawls every quarter (January, April, July, October.) I am still deciding on two of the shawls but the Knitting Daily's Icelandic Shawl has been chosen as one of the three. Sarah’s Yarns has a new Icelandic Yarn Kit all set up for this shawl. Please check out her site for more information or you may contact me directly at AutumnRa@gmail.com .

Sarah’s Yarns are very good. She has excellent prices and the shipping is reasonable and very quick. I have used her Egyptian Cotton Yarn for my dishcloths and her special cashmere for a few of my scarves. These fibers are very good. I have worked shawls in her the Jaggerspun that she offers and love the end results. Sarah’s Yarns, Jaggerspun Mainline Yarn is even what I am using for my new Shrug pattern I am creating. I highly recommend her services if you are looking for high quality and fast shipping.

On the home front I have been working on a few more dishcloths, scarves and a shawl as well. First I have to catch up on my housework…and then back to the fun! =)

If any of you are having trouble w3ith the links above I will give them here so you can copy/pawste them into your browser:

I have been dying to try making my own shawl lately. I have been experimenting with different lace knitting patterns, but nothing like this. I even found some lace yarn that has beads threaded into it. What colors would you suggest are best for a shawl like this one? Are earthy colors better, or could I get away with some brighter colors?
